ABOUT THE BOOK

The language is very simple and direct to make even an ordinary child understand. Each child is unique and deserves special attention. So the book is printed exclusively for each child.. He will be happy to see himself as a good boy, as a smart boy, intelligent boy or obedient boy, which in turn will motivate him to be one in real life. His esteem needs will be satisfied.
But this was an uphill task, when we got on with it. Many a time we were forced to drop the idea as it was not economically viable. The best printing is possible only by using offset printing technology. But offset printing is economical only if thousands of copies are made. This means printing one book or one thousand books will cost almost the same. Printing a book for each child amounts to a lot of wasteful expenditure and labour. This is a very cumbersome process. When other printing techniques were used the quality was not adequate.
 
 
This forced us to explore new techniques that can be combined with offset printing technology, so as to reduce the cost. After considering all options the cost was fixed at US dollars 20, which is equivalent to 800 Indian rupees. But based on feedback, we came to the conclusion that only higher income group can afford this price in our context. So we fixed the price at rupees 300 to cater to the middle income group also. We have undertaken this difficult task as a part of our social responsibility.
An element of fantasy is also incorporated to develop imagination and interest in children. A friendly character that never burdens the child with advice or instructions, but guides him through stories, is introduced. This is because the child better understands, once told by characters like Scooby or Spiderman, than others.
These books have three parts.
1. Personalising, where the child identifies himself/herself as the character.
2. Generating the need for accepting a positive behaviour.
3. Motivating to accept new behaviour and strengthening the parent-child bond.
‘My Tiny World’ series of stories gives children an opportunity to experience and learn a behavior through the best medium any child likes, i.e. stories, being told by a cartoon character. This will be more appealing and convincing to them.

The first book of this series, ‘My Loving Angels’, is exclusively for strengthening the parent-child relationship that will result in effective communication between them. The child will feel free to share all his problems with the parent. This will solve majority of the problems faced by him/ her.

‘Lesson of obedience’ is the second book in the ‘My Tiny World’ series. Children love to assert themselves and like to get things done their way. Children ought to be taught to take decisions and analyse situations in life. In short, they must learn to be independent, but they must also obey their parents who are any day wiser than them. Though your child may be obedient, at times he or she may not be convinced with your stand. Submission to your decision may be due to sheer coercion. However this may not last long. As he grows, his opposition to your decision will surface in some form. Introducing the child to such a situation now and making him or her experience the outcome of such behaviour will help him/her understand and make the necessary correction, all by himself / herself.

Other books in this series are designed to help the child to develop a particular behavior. Further each book will reinforce the parent-child relationship.
CHILD COUNSELLING
Children like cartoon characters. If the cartoon character is the one who will tell stories and reach out to them when they want help, they will be eager to adore such a character. They will feel comfortable to interact with this character and share their problems with him than anybody else. The telephone number of ‘Patchei’ the cartoon character will be published and the children will be free to interact with Patchei. An expert in child counseling will interact with the children in the guise of Patchei. In case of serious problems Patchei will give feedback to the parents without the child’s knowledge. This will help the parent to take remedial measures immediately.
